Job Description
· Assist other process controllers in operating the plant
· Prepare the plant for start-up
· Start up a process
· Monitor and maintain a process
· Shutdown a process
· Control and monitor plant and equipment within the scope of authority
· Operate Pellet Mills outside
· Clean and tidy up equipment and the work area
· Prepare plant for maintenance and reinstate after maintenance is complete
· Carry out authorized maintenance operations
· Measure, mix and dose chemicals to the reaction vessels
· Draw and test samples for quality purposes
· Run off finished product into drums, bags or other containers for shipment
· Act as first line of defence in case of a fire and other emergencies
· Perform any other related tasks as may be required from time to time
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 or NQF 4 with mathematics and science
NQF 2 Plant Operation – advantageous
Minimum one-year experience in chemical production environment
